Somatic Sex Education

Somatic sex educators teach through body experiences designed to nurture, deepen or awaken the sensual self. These experiences can include coaching in breath, movement, body awareness, boundary-setting, communication, anatomy, sensate focus, massage, erotic trance and other body-based teaching about sex. Uniquely in the professions, we are trained to do genital and anal touch for education, healing and pleasure. We touch in ways that assist students in developing presence within the body, opening interior awareness, and learning how the body can feel more and more alive.

Somatic Sex Education and Sexologic Bodywork offers the gift of embodiment, choice and wisdom thanks to its experiential blend of coaching, bodywork, and education. In my work supporting clients as a Somatic Sex Educator we often will explore:

• establishing feelings of safety, communication, consent, and boundaries

• deepening mindful awareness of pleasure throughout the body

• addressing pelvic pain, numbness or challenges with orgasm

• masturbation and sex coaching, plus education about the anatomy of pleasure

• expanding erotic embodiment with breath, sound, touch, movement, and imagination

Many find these somatic practices and experiences deeply supportive when seeking expanded experiences of embodied pleasure. These practices also offer expanded choice and possibility when it comes to common sexual concerns including challenges with orgasm or arousal, sexual communication and boundary-setting issues, gender dysphoria, trauma, addictive patterns, and genito-pelvic pain / numbness.
