Trauma Informed BDSM

Exploring embodied experiences of power exchange and sensation play is an important part of welcoming erotic aliveness, arousal and pleasure for many folks. BDSM, kink, fetish, and other similar practices are a rich and old part of human history - they can be found woven into our mythologies, spiritual and religious rituals, and beyond.

Not only is BDSM play a way of exploring the galaxy of our nerve endings - since we have the capacity to feel a whole range of delicious sensations through our skin, but BDSM is also a way to visit and explore deep parts of our psyches, our dreamscapes, non-ordinary states of consciousness, and how we wish to arrive in this world.

Exploring BDSM in a professional context is a supportive and informing way for clients to learn about their desires and pleasures on their own terms and at their own speed. And, for folks that are already experienced kinksters, working with a professional offers the gift of cultivating the perfect session solely for them!

As with many of my offerings, working with BDSM and kink is process of exploring what clients are interested in experiencing and what supports they need in order to manifest their desires. We will establish safewords, and negotiate well as what to do if something becomes too challenging or is triggering. All work moves at the speed of trust and is informed by the client’s intentions and goals. Our work always begins with education about boundaries, communication, consent, and the nervous system.

We live in a world that militates against erotic feeling - the more counter-normative the feeling, the more brutal and shaming the cultural messaging we receive. It is a joy supporting folks as they reach towards their authentic pleasure and delight despite our anti-erotic culture and its prescriptions on erotic expression and pleasure.
